| Description |
| EAGLE POLYSAB is a mix of calibrated sand and latest generation high quality polymers specially formulated to fill paver or slab joints on heavy traffic surfaces. Easy and ready-to-use, this mix is applied dry and hardens after wetting. This polymer-sand is formulated to stabilize paver surfaces by compensating dilatation movement either on commercial or residential areas like boardwalks, parking areas, decks, pool beaches, etc. Being either horizontal or sloped surfaces, EAGLE POLYSAB stabilizes pavers and resists to erosion, water, freeze and thaw, wind, cleaning and also to bad weeds and ants. It keeps paver joints filled, stable, durable, flexible and having excellent adhesion on more demanding jobs. |
| Surface Preparation |
EAGLE POLYSAB has been conceived for joints having a maximum width of 2.5 cm (1”) and it must be used only if pavers or slabs have been installed over a drainage bed (sand or stone) conform to trade practices. All surfaces to be covered shall be structurally sound, clean, dry and free from traces of oil, grease, wax or any material that can retain polymer at paver’s surface. They must also be exempt from any trace or presence of acids, concentrated alkalis, chemical cleaning agent or any other material that can reduce adhesion. This product must be used by dry weather and without any risk of rain for a period of 24 hours. Ambient, surface and product temperature must be superior to 10ºC (50ºF) during the installation and for the first 24 hours. |
| Mixing |
Ready to use, no mixing is required. Proceed immediately with application and finishing. |
| Application |
Surface must be completely dry. Fill completely paver joints with a broom taking care not to sweep on long distances for product’s stability. Following paver manufacturer’s recommendations, use either a rubber hammer or a vibrating plate for packing or settling. Repeat these steps if necessary until joint is completely filled. Clean perfectly all residual dust from paving surface with a fine bristle broom and/or blower. Proceeding by 50 m² (500 ft²) section, damp the surface with a fine mist so water won’t empty joints or remove some of the polymer-sand. Continuously moisten, without flood or water streaming, until joints are damp 4/5 in depth. Stop watering and proceed with next section. Let dry completely before exposing to humidity again. If there’s a risk of showers, protect from rain for a 24 hours period. |
| Curing |
Once dried, Eagle Polysab doesn’t need any restriction for pedestrian traffic, but it is preferable to wait 24 to 48 hours for car traffic. Curing time may vary according to temperature and humidity level. |
