| Description |
Eagle Patch is a polymer modified rapid-set cementitious mortar, designed to patch holes, cracks, voids, depressions and other irregularities. This smooth finish mortar is specially designed to prepare interior plywood or concrete floors before installation of floor coverings like carpet, vinyl, composite tile, ceramic and hardwood. It is compatible with all types of floor covering adhesives. Eagle Patch is designed for residential, commercial and institutional uses. This material cannot be used as a wearing surface.
When mixed with water Eagle Patch serves to fill holes, voids and depressions going from 1 mm (1/32”) up to 12 mm (½”) deep. It can also be used for levelling floors or making small slopes.
Blended with Eagle Patch Plus, these two components give better adhesion on more difficult substrates like smooth concrete, cut-back adhesive traces, old ceramic tiles, etc. |
| Surface Preparation |
All surfaces to be covered shall be structurally sound, clean and free from traces of dust, oil, grease, wax, paint, curing agent, coatings and loose particles. They must also be exempt from any trace or presence of acids, concentrated alkalis, chemical cleaning agent or any other material that can reduce adhesion.
The only recommended wood substrate for residential floors is exterior grade plywood installed in an interior dry area.
All concrete substrates shall be completely cured and at least 28 days old. They must be roughened to completely remove all traces of paint, coating, loosely bonded toppings, loose particles and construction debris.
Ambient surface and product temperature must be superior than 10ºC (50ºF)and lower than 35ºC (95ºF) before the installation and for the first 24 hours. |
| Mixing |
In a clean container, pour exactly 320 ml of fresh clean water per kilogram. Add gradually Eagle Patch powder while mixing with a low-speed drill and a mixer.
Blend for 1 to 2 minutes scraping recipient walls and paddle to obtain a homogeneous trowelable consistency.
Spread immediately to the desired texture and finish.
Mix portion of product that can be applied in less than 10 minutes.
Clean working tools and hands with water while product is still fresh. |
| Curing |
Eagle Patch takes lessthan 60 minutes to dry. Curing time may vary according to temperature and humidity level. Make sure application is dry prior to allow light traffic for floor covering installation. |
