Eagle Black’s crack bridging kit includes an elastomeric latex coating and a polyester mesh reinforced canvas. Ideal to repair and prevent cracks on cement backer joints or on concrete either inside or outside before the application of finish products. Recommended to joint plywood seems, internal use only.
This concrete-grey colored water-based coating is an 100% acrylic emulsion that will give flexible and resistant finish. It is an excellent product to waterproof cement backer panels and joints for ceramic shower. This waterproofing membrane can considerably reduce humidity problems caused by hydrostatic pressure. |
| Surface Preparation |
All surfaces to be covered shall be structurally sound, clean and free from traces of dust, oil, grease, wax, paint, curing agent, coatings and loose particles. They must also be exempt from any trace or presence of acids, concentrated alkalis, chemical cleaning agent or any other material that can reduce adhesion. All concrete substrates shall be completely cured and at least 28 days old and they must be roughened for a good adhesion. Preferably repair cracks larger than 6 mm (1/8”) with an Eagle Black’s concrete repair product. The only recommended wood substrate is an exterior grade plywood installed inside on floors in dry areas. Ambient surface and product temperature must be superior than 10ºC (50ºF) and lower than 35ºC (95ºF) before the installation and for the first 24 hours. |
| Application |
Apply a generous coat of elastomeric latex on each side of the crack to repair or bridge, unroll and insert mesh in the coating, apply a second coat of latex over the mesh.
For waterproofing, it is recommended to apply two separated coats of products to ensure a thickness of 12 to 15 mil
The elastomeric membrane can be used without mesh when there is no crack or just micro-cracking. |

3.78 L of crack bridging kit can cover up to 5.6 m² (60 ft²). Reinforcement mesh has in length 18.3 m (60 ft) and 15.2 cm (6 inch) width. Coverage rate and drying time are dependent of surface porosity and temperature. |
