Water-based crystal varnish
Description
High quality water-based polyurethane AQUAVERNIS is extremely durable and highly resistant against abrasion, water, alcohol and commun household products. This varnish, available in gloss and semi-gloss finish is practically odorless, easy to clean and will not yellow. AQUAVERNIS is formulated to protect interior wood floors.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Sand completely along the wood grain with a coarse sandpaper (80) then sand the surface with a finer sandpaper (120) until a smooth and uniform surface is obtained. Remove completely dust or any deleterious substances and debris. Sandpaper resulting dust must be removed with a vacuum cleaner and followed by a final cleaning with a solvant humid pad to eliminate any trace of dust.
We recommend the use of THIROCO SCELLEUR 100 as primer for wood floors.
Application
It is important to stir the product before and during its use. Temperature and relative humidity are critical factors for an appropriate drying. For the application and curing of AQUAVERNIS, temperature should be more than 10ºC, however best conditions are 25ºC and 50% of relative humidity.
Pour a small quantity directly on the floor or in a paint pan and spread the finish evenly and uniformly using a pure silk bristle brush or a pad applicator. Allow a minimum of 2 hours between coats according to ambient conditions. It is necessary to sand lightly the surface with a sandpaper of 180 to 220 along the wood grain between coats and taking care of removing any dust coming from sanding. We recommend to apply 2 coats of AQUAVERNIS along with SCELLEUR 100 or 3 coats if SCELLEUR 100 is not used.
Note

AquaVernis has a milky appearance but will dry in a nice clear finish. With the use of this product, it is not necessary to remove food from application site. Clean tools with water.

Following final application, light traffic may be allowed after 24 hours of drying. However, it is better to wait over 48 hours before replacing furnitures. Watch out for scratches. Do not put rugs and carpets on the new finish and do not clean the floor until complete curing of the product. Complete curing takes approximately 7 days. Note that 90% of hardness is obtained after 3 days.
From purchase date, this product can be stored 6 months when kept in its tightly closed original container. Store at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. KEEP FROM FREEZING. Do not alternate with another product.
COVERAGE 3.78 litres covers up to 55.7 m² ( 600 ft²). May vary according to application method, surface conditions and applicator’s skills.
